Glock handguns are known worldwide for their reliability, accuracy and simplicity. And, due to its plastic frame, Glocks tend to be lighter than most any other handgun available. While this is certainly an advantage for most shooters, some actually prefer the heavier weight and feel of a steel framed gun. Therefore, an opportunity was created in the minds of many shooters, and in 2006, Ray Harms acted on these thoughts and developed the first steel frame that would accept the Glock slide and barrel system. Of course this was no easy task and it took two years of development and several hundred thousand dollars to perfect the Alloy Frame for Glocks.
